We had a great time at the lake this weekend! It was hotter than hades...Just the way we like it!! We spent most of our time on the beach and in the sun. I think Daddy was the only one that didn't wear sunscreen and boy is he paying for it tonight!!
It was Fathers Day today and we were glad that Dave's brother Kelly and his family came to the lake today. Dave's Mom and Dad were also there. My brother Shane and his family were there on Saturday. Our friend Bobbi Jo from Chamberlain SD also spent Friday and Saturday night!! There's really nothing better than summertime with friends and family.
Ethan (Valerie and Jason's third child) has been duly appointed the Mayor of Sandbar Beach Resort. Pam (one of the other Sandbar Beach residents) appointed him to the newly designated position. She has always taken a liking to Ethan and on Friday night she told him that she was going to give him a present...she then asked him, what do you want?? He said he wanted to be in charge. She said...that's easy...you are now in charge, you are the Mayor of Sandbar Beach! Today, when we couldn't find Ethan, we went to look for him at the snack bar...there he was bellied up to the bar, talking to the adults. When asked what he was doing, he said "Nothing, just being the Mayor"!! He has this politics thing down...go to the snack bar, have a soda (which he didn't pay for!!) and chat to the other residents about what's going on! Watch out Washington....here comes Ethan!!
Maria's new toy is a water bottle with a lid. The lid is the important part, she tries very hard to get the lid back on the water bottle. She is very content to try for an hour to get the lid back on...but then...God forbid she suceeds to get it to screw back on...then she's not happy! It is soooo funny! She has a million toys and the only thing she wants is a stinking water bottle. You have now been forwarned...if you are around her with a water bottle, she will want it and she won't give up until you give it to her. On the other hand, it takes very little to keep her occupied.
