I was promised that I would have the homestudy by Friday and Guess What? I don't have it. Surprised?? I'm not! It's par for the course for these inept people I hired to provide my homestudy services. I was sooo upset yesterday when I called to confirm that they had mailed it. After all, if I was going to receive it today, they would have to have mailed it yesterday, (Thursday). As soon as the office lady stammered a little, I knew it hadn't been mailed. Apparently the person that has it decided not to bring it to the office this week, but instead she is going to bring it on Monday. Also apparently it doesn't matter that someone desperately wants it and all she would have to do is drive across town to do her job. Anyway, I am almost done with them and then I will spread the word so others don't waste their money with these clowns.
After I confirmed that the person was going to be bringing it to their office on Monday, I left it that I would be at their office on Monday at Noon to pick it up in person. Instead of leaving the lake on Sunday to come home, I will stay overnight and drive to their office. It's in Minnesota and I will be 3/4's of the way there. Hopefully, I will get there a little prior to Noon and then the plan is drive the document to St. Paul to the Minnesota Secretary of State. After the document is Authenticated, I will then find a Fed Ex drop off site and the homestudy will be in Washington DC by 9am on Tuesday. If all works out the way it's supposed to I will have accomplished more in less than 24 hours than they did in 3 weeks.
Ok...I'm done with my bitch session now! I'm over them!!

Tomorrow is my Grandma Ellen's 90th Birthday party. We are going to go to Corsica, SD to celebrate with the rest of my mom's family. After the party we are going to head to the lake to relax for the rest of the weekend.

I also recieved some good news today from our attorney in Guatemala. The DNA testing on both Flora and her birthmother was done yesterday without incident. It's very good news that it went off without incident, as this is the time that if she was going to change her mind..yesterday, statistically would have been the day. It's the only time that she legally has to see the baby. She gave her up 3 months ago and hasn't seen her since, but yesterday they had to be in the same doctors office for the procedure and they had to have a picture taken together. It's a very hard day for most birthmother's that go through this process.
